Soft boards and a loose ledger are a warning. We read it.
Tear-out and rebuild of rotted or failing decks, ledger and flashing repair, and resurfacing where the frame is still good. Call 425-667-1123.

We will tell you which, in writing.
Not every tired deck needs to go. Sound framing with worn boards can be resurfaced for far less than a rebuild. A rotted ledger, sunk posts or joists you can push a screwdriver into mean a rebuild, and we will say so.
Either way you get a written price. Replacement decks that meet the Lake Stevens permit triggers get a permit like a new deck would.

Deck replacement questions
How do I know if my deck needs replacing or just repair?
Push a screwdriver into the ledger, posts and joists. If it sinks in, or the ledger has pulled from the house, that is a rebuild. Worn boards on a sound frame can be resurfaced. We check all of it at the free estimate and put the answer in writing.
Does a deck replacement need a permit in Lake Stevens?
If the new deck is 200 sq ft or more, 30 inches or more above grade, attached to the house, or serves the exit door, yes, the same as a new build. We handle it.
Can I switch from cedar to composite when I resurface?
Usually. Composite boards need joists on the spacing the manufacturer calls for, so we check the frame first and add blocking or joists if needed.
Do you take away the old deck?
Yes. Tear-out and disposal are included as a line on the written price.
